Introduction

Our business is social innovation - finding and developing new and better ways of meeting pressing unmet needs. We were founded in 2005, formed from the merger of the Institute of Community Studies and the Mutual Aid Centre. We undertake research to identify and understand unmet social needs and then develop practical initiatives and institutions to address them - in fields as diverse as health and education, housing and cities

Staff

Led by our Director Geoff Mulgan we have a small, very strong team of core staff in place from private, public and voluntary sectors, bringing outstanding track records in achieving practical social changeYoung Foundation researcher Lilli Geissendorfer and Simon Wooley Director of Operation Black Vote

The Hub

Our buildings in Bethnal Green serve as an expanding hub and home for numerous organisations engaged in social innovation, from brand new start-ups to existing service providers and campaignsOur buildings in Bethnal Green
