William Heath is an entrepreneur and digital right activist who co-founded the Mydex Community Interest Company. Before that he co-founded the government IT research business Kable, now part of Guardian News & Media.

He started and moderates the IdealGovernment blog and is also co-founder of Ctrl-Shift Ltd. Mydex CIC and Ctrl-Shift Ltd both address the possibilites and implications of user control over personal data. Ctrl-Shift is a research business which advises about working with empowered customers. Mydex is a community-interest company which equips people to store, manage and selectively share their personal data. He is former chair of Open Rights Group and former vice-chair of the Foundation for Information Policy Research.
