Chris Jones
Chris is the Founding Director of Resilience, a new venture based at the Young Foundation.
The Young Foundation has long been engaged in major research projects around wellbeing and resilience, contributing to growing evidence that public policy and practical interventions which improve wellbeing have much wider positive impacts in our society.
A key finding is that resilience - the ordinary superpower that buffers us from stress and allows us to respond productively to challenges and opportunities - is something that can be learned. Furthermore, there is a wealth of evidence supporting the importance of resilience to both individual and community wellbeing and prosperity.
In response to this, the Young Foundation is launching an exciting new organisation to develop, promote and deliver resilience training programmes, as well as lead a communications campaign that positions resilience as a central concern to the whole UK population.
Chris has a diverse range of commercial experience, from start-ups through to large multi-national companies. He has recently completed his M.Sc. in Applied Positive Psychology at the University of East London.
Chris spent twenty years in sales management and leadership within the telecoms sector. After leaving the corporate world, Chris decided to change direction and is now focused on using his experience, knowledge and leadership skills for positive social change.
His long-standing interest in the area of happiness and wellbeing has resulted in studying positive psychology to a masters level. He has a passion for helping people to create a meaningful and enjoyable life and believes firmly that resilience is a key factor in attaining this.
