Emily Marsh
Emily was an intern on Year Here.
Currently pursuing a Master's degree in Urbanisation and Development at the London School of Economics, I'm interested in the capacity of local community projects to both invigorate change and address wider social issues. In particular, I'm interested in the role that the youth population plays in energizing and developing these projects over the long term. These interests, coupled with a desire to make a career change to the public sector, led me to the The Young Foundation and, specifically, Year Here. I am most looking forward to developing the program from the ground up and learning more about potential for social entrepreneurship in Britain's young adults.
Prior to starting my Master's degree, I worked in social media at an international software company where I developed an interest in social entrepreneur start-ups and was involved in launching a tech start-up in West Africa through the company's entrepreneurial foundation in Ghana. I also worked at The Atlantic as a program development and research intern, which, through an intensive research project, led me to solidify my interest in urban studies.
