Connor Friesen
Connor is a Project Developer on the Social Innovation eXchange, SIX, an international network for social innovators. He was previously an intern working in Media and Events.
At SIX Connor is responsible for coordinating the Social Innovation Pilot Initiative for Europe - a two year project funded by the European Commission and run by a consortium of partners across Europe, and led by SIX. Specifically, Connor is developing an online space for social innovation in Europe which will include an interactive online hub and an extensive database of useful resources.
Connor was previously an intern working in Media and Events where he maintained and updated the Young Foundation website, liaised with media, and generally attempted to make the Foundation look as good as it feels.
He has a couple of degrees in English Literature from McGill University and the University of Toronto. At McGill he focused his work on novelistic responses to the AIDS crisis in New York. At Toronto he worked across multiple media, studying the communications tactics of anti-smoking campaigns. He has worked on a Crisis Helpline, a couple of magazines and a Housing Trust for the disenfranchised. In his time off he also designs websites.
