Megan Dragony
Megan is Head of Propositions, The U and is part of the team developing The U - a Citizens' University.
The U is a new venture that aims to give people the skills and confidence to be better citizens through volunteer-led training in areas like first aid and conflict resolution.
Megan is handling communications for The U, as well as assisting with service delivery as the first three pathfinder locations launch throughout 2011.
Before joining the Young Foundation, Megan worked for a London-based charity that teaches filmmaking to impoverished young people using mobile phones. She oversaw the coordination of training workshops for young people in four countries, and managed a start-up production team composed of workshop graduates in the townships around Cape Town. Prior to that, she worked as a video editor and production assistant in Los Angeles.
Megan earned a Masters degree in Visual Anthropology from the University of Oxford, with an emphasis on the Anthropology of Development and Participatory Video. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Arizona with a double major in Anthropology and Media Arts.
