Fellows
Belinda Brown studied Social Anthropology at the London School of Economics and then Sociology and Politics at the Central European University in Warsaw.
Elaine, an anthropologist, was born in Jamaica and graduated from the University of Guelph, Canada.
Francis Davis' research interests focus on mutuality, social exclusion and migration. He is currently Visiting Fellow in the Department of Social Policy at the London School of Economics. Francis has volunteered with voluntary organisations in the social enterprise, mental health, and homelessness sectors.
Geoff studied Archaeology & Anthropology at Cambridge and then for a PhD in Social Institutions at the LSE. He first worked at the Institute of Community Studies as research assistant in 1962.
Dr H.A. Hellyer is Director of the Visionary Consultants Group, a West-Muslim World relations consultancy, and a Fellow of the University of Warwick.
Jim is a social anthropologist and Senior Research Fellow at the Young Foundation.
John Thackara is Director of Doors of Perception (Doors), a global design network with offices in France and Bangalore.
Kate is a Trustee and Fellow of the Young Foundation and has been associated with the Institute of Community Studies and Mutual Aid Centre (also based at Victoria Park Square) since 1992.
Kathy Pain is a Research Fellow at the Young Foundation.
Kirsteen Tait set up the Information Centre about Asylum and Refugees (ICAR) at Kings College London in March 2001 and was its director until she retired in 2004.
Nat works at Absolute Return for Kids, a foundation established to address child poverty through education, health, and support, and is a member of their education team.
Paul is a Senior Research Fellow at the Young Foundation. A writer and broadcaster he is the former Editor of the social affairs magazine New Society.
Professor Paul Thompson is a social historian and sociologist, internationally recognised as a pioneer of the use of oral history and life story interviews in social research.

Sean Carey PhD studied social science at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne. Sean has written extensively on several Hindu religious movements in the UK as well as the Bangladeshi, Indian and Pakistani communities in the East End of London.

William Davies is a PhD student at Goldsmiths College, London, studying territorial competitiveness from the perspective of economic sociology.
