The Young Foundation - a centre for social innovation

Welcome to the Local 2.0 Blog!

It's been an interesting couple of months for us. The project getting underway and so far over 35 councils have registered an interest in partnering with us - a fantastic response and good indicator of local governments' appetite for this stuff at the moment.

There is still some time before our 31st August deadline, so if you're a council officer or elected member who wants to get involved, contact us now!

As well as answering lots of enquiries from councils, we are continually speaking to others in the social technology field. Everyone we have spoken to so far (including the IDeA, Media Trust, Office for Champion of Digital Inclusion) are really open to working together and sharing learning. Check out discussion over on the Local Communities network for more ideas about how this will pan out.

We are also looking for good examples of hyper-local websites (there's already an impressive collection over on talkaboutlocal.org). If you have set one up, use one, or are just aware of something vaguely interesting us please drop me a line or post a comment below.
