Graduate Employment: Mission Possible?

Thursday, 31 March 2011 17:00 - 19:00

Today the latest UK unemployment figures were released - and they reveal that youth unemployment has reached unprecedented levels - with a record number of almost 1 million young people out of work.

Fastlaners is an intensive, engaging and challenging training programme from the Young Foundation. It is aimed at graduates who are finding it difficult to find gainful employment and supports them in the critical, sometimes challenging, transition from education to employment.

We are holding a networking event hosted by Canary Wharf Group, with a speaker panel of leaders from the public, private, and third sectors (including Rushanara Ali, MP for Tower Hamlets and Channel 4 News' Faisal Islam) discussing possible solutions to the growing issue of graduate employment. This will be a chance to meet and network with the Fastlaners participants and contributors to the Fastlaners programme, and to discuss the wider issue at hand. It will also a great opportunity to see the Fastlaners programme in action.

We intend the event to be a interactive occasion - allowing all involved to contribute to the Fastlaners programme. Just by being at the event, you will be helping the programme and the Fastlaners participants. Please bring your business cards and be ready to join in the discussion!

The event will be held at East Wintergarden, Canary Wharf (Between 40 and 50 Bank Street). Space is limited so please RSVP  by Monday March 28 via e-mail to office@fastlaners.org.

Fastlaners has been funded by Barclays Capital, the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, and the Canary Wharf Group. The networking event is kindly hosted and sponsored by Canary Wharf Group.
