Informing investment in youth work: measuring the value and strengthening the evidence base

Wednesday, 13 April 2011 9:30 - 11:30

The National Youth Agency (NYA) and the Young Foundation, working together with the Local Government Association,  held an expert seminar  to discuss future strategies for informing investment in youth work. The event shared emerging findings from scoping research undertaken by the NYA and Young Foundation to test the feasibility of new models of social financing for youth work, and to build the case for investment. Discussions focused particularly on understanding and articulating both the value and impact of youth work.

Chair Geoff Mulgan and panellists Charlie Green of Private Equity Foundation and Fiona Blacke of the National Youth Agency discussed the future with representative from the youth sector, experts in social finance, central and local government, universities and research organisations.

The seminar will shape the next phase of development in the Young Foundation's project on valuing youth work, and feed into a framework for informing future investment.
