Wellbeing and public policy: towards a better success

This high profile event will bring together a range of senior central and local government stakeholders, with academics and experts, to discuss how wellbeing can play a stronger role within public policy.

Speakers include Gus O'Donnell, Cabinet Secretary and Head of the Home Civil Service with Professor Lord Richard Layard and Geoff Mulgan from the Young Foundation.

The seminar will showcase the work of the Local Wellbeing Project, a partnership between the Young Foundation, IDeA, Professor Richard Layard at the LSE and three leading local authorities: Hertfordshire County Council, Manchester City Council and South Tyneside Metropolitan Borough Council

Discussion will draw on international developments, ranging from the OECD's work on wellbeing and progress to the US Army's commitment to a comprehensive programme to promote psychological as well as physical fitness.
