Fakers at Number 10 as Jobs Fund is announced
Two participants of a Learning Launchpad-funded project were invited for breakfast this morning with Gordon Brown just weeks after taking part in Faking It, a two-week transformative programme for young unemployed people based on the TV programme created by RDF media.
Jack Stone and Sameer Shahzada were part of a group of 11 young people who managed to fake it as restaurant chefs at the Hoxton Apprentice restaurant following two weeks of intensive culinary training, personal development sessions and one-to-one coaching. Since taking part, Jack and Sameer have started a training course run by Training for Life and aim to become apprentices at the Hoxton Apprentice. Their achievements in such a short space of time show us all that there are many paths to success.
The Prime Minister was joined by staff from the Hoxton Apprentice, Communities Secretary Hazel Blears and Work and Pensions Secretary James Purnell.
The event was convened to encourage social enterprises to bid for government funding from the £1bn Future Jobs Fund. Click here for more information on the event and the fund.
