The Stronger Smarter Institute was set up to change the tide of low expectations in Indigenous Education in Australia. Their distinctive approach focuses on encouraging young indigenous Australians to be strong and smart, nurturing their cultural identity and striving for high achievement.

Executive Director, Dr Chris Sarra, will present the Stronger Smarter Institute within the context of broader educational disadvantage and explore the parallels with schools-based initiatives in England. In response, we’ll also be hearing from Teach First about their experience of developing the skills of teachers, and from the Impetus Trust about the Education Endowment Fund.
