Time Schools: Schools that engage the many
Pierhead Building, Cardiff Bay
Leighton Andrew AM, Minister for Education and Skills, together with Spice invite you to a celebration of the Time Schools Project. Schools in Wales are using Time Banking to facilitate greater community, parent and student engagement, breaking down the false silos between school and the community, and inspiring greater positivity to learning.
Time Schools have been launched in 4 secondary schools: Glyn Derw High School, Michaelston Community College, Pontypridd High School and Tonypandy Community College. These time banks promote an active culture of volunteering and engagement that supports closer cohesion between schools and the community. The time banking schemes have now been active for 9 months and already have over 600 student members connecting with 35 community groups.
