On 21 July 2009, UpRising launched its year two cohort as well as introduce new UpRisers to their first learning session at the Clifford Chance offices in Canary Wharf. The learning session explored how leaders can work at a grass roots level effectively. Some questions to ponder are:

• What kinds of leadership are most important?
• Obama talks about young people claiming the future, but what about the present? What do young people have to offer today?
• Does leadership come from above or below?
