Year Here wins Evening Standard competition
The Evening Standard announced today that Year Here, led by Young Foundation Senior Associate Jack Graham, is one of the first winners of the Ideas for London competition.
The competition, sponsored by the Evening Standard and Artangel, recognises Londoners' most remarkable ideas for the capital. Year Here's prize is a night in a Room for London, an architectural installation that will sit atop Queen Elizabeth Hall throughout 2012 as part of the London 2012 Festival. Jack will be hosting an evening in the installation in February.
Year Here is a new type of gap year that's based right here in Britain. Year Here challenges bright, ambitious and socially-conscious school leavers to a year of tackling social issues in their own backyard. The venture aims to nurture a new wave of young people who are inspired and equipped to take on society's most pressing issues from positions of leadership.
