Chaired by the Lord Adebowale CBE joined by Sir Bob Kerslake, from the Homes and Communities Agency, and Geoff Mulgan, the Young Foundation.

Future Communities is a new consortium of local authorities and national bodies exploring how large-scale provision of new housing can create communities that work in the long term.

The aim of Future Communities is to build a practical understanding of what can be done to encourage the right mix of social engagement, networks, mutual support, public institutions, leadership and shared identities, to make sure that new communities can succeed. The programme draws on local and international ideas from architects, designers, and the academic community.
