Learning Launchpad fund open for business
Our education fund is searching for the best ideas that promote practical learning for young people across Britain. The Learning Launchpad fund is a partnership between Edge and the Young Foundation set up to support new social enterprises that want to raise the aspirations and release the potential of young people aged 14-25 in their transition to adulthood.
The fund has already supported radical ideas that sidestep existing structures for learning that include a new type of school - Studio Schools; a 21st century finishing school for graduates called Fastlaners; and the School of Everything, a social learning network that’s been labelled ‘the ebay of learning’.
The teams that lead these ideas include teachers, ex-trade unionists, football players, recent graduates and social entrepreneurs. The diversity of the fund’s portfolio shows that anyone can have a great idea and the passion, energy and commitment to see it through into becoming a flourishing organisation.
The Learning Launchpad fund supports people with a great idea to develop it into a sustainable organisation that is not dependent on charitable funding. It does this by providing intensive business support to help applicants make their operations have a really high impact, understand their market and develop the systems they need to reach a national audience of young people.
