Power of Information

The Government has responded positively to the recent report ‘The Power of Information’ that was prepared by Ed Mayo (Young Foundation trustee) and Tom Steinberg (Young Foundation Fellow). The report sets out how government should respond to the growing importance of citizen-created and state-created information on the web

Cabinet Office Minister Hilary Armstrong said: “Government cannot afford to overlook this phenomenon of citizens changing their lives through their use of information, especially what they find on the internet. We need to support ordinary people to take advantage of these opportunities to build community networks and make informed decisions on issues relating to their day to day lives. This is a thorough and pioneering piece of work which will give the government a platform to ensure it takes full advantage of new these opportunities sooner rather than later.”
