2010 is all set to be an enthralling year.  Here’s a snapshot of what’s to come:

  • Health: Our next project with BEN PCT is about to begin, raising awareness of maternal health and perinatal death.  We’re also about to start work with Westminster PCT on diabetes, with more projects lined up tackling issues such as autism and other mental health problems, hospitals, smoking cessation, alcohol and drug abuse, and more.
  • Education: We are looking forward to working with more teachers in a variety of schools to further develop our educational resources in meaningful ways
  • British Council: We have starting work on a unique partnership with the British Council to produce a virtual exhibition for its Our Shared Europe project which will span three countries – Great Britain, Germany and Turkey.  The exhibition will highlight the constant influence and sharing of ideas that has occurred between Muslim and European individuals and societies, showing the ripple effect of those ideas in the present and how Europe today would not be the same without the Islam of yesterday.  We will use a mixture of rigorous academic research, film, animation and music to bring to life a valuable shared history.
  • Women: We are also aiming to produce a pioneering online exhibition which will explore the role Muslim women have played through history in parallel with the powerful achievements of Muslim female role models today, detailing a rich legacy which continues through into today’s striking present– ranging from more prominent women to those providing essential services within a more everyday context.  Crucially this exhibition will use a variety of media to contribute towards dramatically stimulating the imagination of visitors by vividly connecting the past with the present with the future of the visitors themselves.

As you might be able to tell, we are extremely excited about being part of all of these projects and being able to bring together people from a wide variety of expertise and backgrounds, including religious scholars, students, civil servants, young people, university professors, counsellors, inspiring charities and social enterprises, and many many more.
