Research into children and young people and their perceptions of emotional wellbeing

NHS Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire Cluster has commissioned the Young Foundation to research into children and young people's perceptions of emotional wellbeing and, based on this, to develop a strategy to promote wellbeing amongst children and young people in the county, based on the ‘five ways to wellbeing'.

The purpose of this project is to help NHS Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire Cluster to gain a better understanding of the perceptions and views of children and young people towards emotional wellbeing and how best to promote it. This information will enable NHS Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire Cluster to develop and deliver emotional wellbeing campaigns to young people, and support schools more effectively.
The Young Foundation will facilitate focus groups with young people in Year 7 and Year 10 in schools in Buckinghamshire. Once the project has been completed, the Young Foundation will use the young people's views to develop a strategy for promoting the emotional wellbeing of young people for practitioners in schools, youth services, charities and other relevant agencies.
