What makes places innovative and how local innovations can be best exploited (November 2007)

This report investigates the factors that make certain localities innovate in meeting social needs and why some places are more socially innovative than others.
The purpose of the study is to provide insights about the conditions and processes that encourage, support and sustain local social innovation.

Our aim is to identify experience and learning that can be transferred to the many practitioners and policymakers around the country who are interested in innovation as a way of tackling entrenched social problems or addressing unmet social needs.
