On 16 July 2009 a new manifesto and website (www.fixingthefuture.eu) were launched called 'fixing the future', which calls for Europe to shift its response to the recession. The current recession could provide a once in a lifetime opportunity to address social needs and accelerate the move towards a greener economy rather than attempting to fix and bail out well-connected instutitions and industries of the past.
