Neighbourhood Know-How

Neighbourhood Know-how is a neighbourhoods wiki, being developed by the Young Foundation with input from Local Level.

The aim is to create a collaborative resource for anyone who wants to get involved in neighbourhood activity where they live, or who is already active in their community and wants to find practical information about getting things done.

Neighbourhood Know-How will bring together in one place stories, links and information about how residents, community activists or local groups can tackle neighbourhood issues.

Neighbourhood Know-How includes practical information about celebrating as well as dealing with problems. It helps you find out about the powers and regulation that affect life where you live. Use the section on advice and support to get in touch with organisations that cover particular issues, or read the neighbourhood stories to learn how residents and community groups in neighbourhoods around the UK have come together to tackle problems and improve their quality of life.

A test site for the wiki launched earlier this year and is being piloted with various community organisations.
