Head of Impact, Project Snowball LLP

Snowball is an investment organisation that targets social and environmental impact alongside financial return. Abigail is responsible for the firm’s approach to managing impact and is a member of the investment team. She has a background in both impact and a financial analysis. Prior to Snowball, Abigail was employed by NPC, a charity think-tank and consultancy, where she led their impact investment work.

Abigail is most interested in helping social organisations become more sustainable and grow their impact, hence her involvement in social investment. Within the social sector she is particularly concerned with education, criminal justice and gender issues, which fits well with The Young Foundation’s mission. She has a number of years experience as a trustee, school governor and magistrate.

Prior to joining the charity sector Abigail spent over 15 years in investment, working in Hong Kong and London. She is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and was a director of Threadneedle Investment Management investing in emerging markets. She holds an MSc in charity accounting and financial management from Cass Business School and the ICAEW diploma in charity accounting.

Abigail values being a member of the board of The Young Foundation, and is particularly interested in our work on place and social innovation. Abigail brings first-hand knowledge of the issues that think tanks and consultancies are facing to the board and even admits to enjoying financial accounts.
