Samanthi joined The Young Foundation in 2022. Using participatory approaches, she does work with communities and grassroots organisations on housing justice, climate justice and urban spatial justice.
Kate Gavron
Chair, Folio Holdings Ltd and the Folio Society Ltd
Kate has a background in book publishing and writing. She chairs Folio Holdings Ltd and the Folio Society Ltd, and is on the board of Granta Publications. She is a trustee of BalletBoyz. She co-authored The New East End with Geoff Dench and our founder, Michael Young, in 2006, and she was co-author of Young at 80: the prolific public life of Michael Young.

With twenty years’ experience working on social justice issues, Alveena is co-founder and director of One Million Mentors, working with technology to transform the process of mentoring for all.
Henry Kippin
CEO, North of Tyne Combined Authority
Henry was formerly a Trustee at The Young Foundation. Prior to his current role, he was CEO at the West Midlands Combined Authority, responsible for its work on inclusive growth, public service reform, climate change and digital.
Jonny Sobczyk Boddington
Founder and Group Director, ImpactEd
Jonny is the Founder and Group Director of consulting and software organisation, ImpactEd, working in the education sector. He previously held Director positions at Accenture and BCS Consulting, and is former CEO and Chair of the Peter Jones Foundation.
Kersten England CBE
Chair of Trustees, The Young Foundation
Passionate about community, social justice, equality, diversity and healthy democratic practice, Kersten’s career over four decades has included work in the voluntary and community sector, higher education, central and local government.
Stephen Jacobs
Chair, Old Ford Housing Association
Stephen was brought up in the East End of London, and has held a variety of senior positions within housing departments in London Local Authorities. He established the largest not-for-profit regeneration company in London, and was community lead in the successful Olympic bid team.
