The value of Arts & Culture in co-creating social change

The Young Foundation in partnership with the Department of Communities is proposing a short project involving arts organisations across Northern Ireland and those who support and fund them to:

  • Explore some of the key challenges and opportunities arts organisations face in co-creation activities with communities, or other ways of working to create specific forms of social value.
  • Explore the different dimensions of their work (such as the existence of a methodology, evidence of social impact, extent of the demand for their work, etc.)
  • Assess which mechanisms and processes might best support proven initiatives to scale, or be adopted by other organisations working in similar contexts.
  • Work with funders on the challenges, opportunities and gaps in knowledge about how to support arts and cultural organisations to create social change/impact.

We are inviting you to attend two workshops – one full day (for arts organisations only) and the other a half day (for arts organisations and funders).  There will also be a separate half-day workshop for funders only.

Details of the workshop dates are as follows:

13th May 2019, Workshop 1 | Full day – Arts and Cultural Organisations only

14th May 2019, Workshop 2 | Half Day – Funders, Trusts and Foundations & Corporate Supporters

21st May 2019, Workshop 3 | Half Day – Arts & Cultural Organisations, Funders, Trusts and Foundations, Corporate Supporters
