About the role

We are looking for a Social Impact and Innovation Lead to join the Innovation and Practice team at The Young Foundation. The role will offer a unique opportunity to strengthen our growing social impact work specifically focused on working with the private sector to improve long term social outcomes for people and communities.

We believe businesses possess the skill, assets, will and ability to help tackle the complex and severe social challenges we are facing nationally and globally. Yet navigating these is not easy.

By bringing business, communities, organisations, and policymakers together the successful applicant will design and deliver programmes for our clients that will support social impact and contribute to The Young Foundation’s mission to shape a fairer future, driving positive change and supporting collective action to improve people’s lives. If successful in your application, the types of projects you might find yourself working on could include:

  1. Developing a social impact strategy for a business that reimagines the way traditional business is done and focuses on achieving long term social impact through the unique levers that businesses possess.
  2. Developing a framework to benchmark and measure social impact against, gathering data, insights and best practice to demonstrate a more inclusive, holistic and collective approach to achieving impact.
  3. Supporting innovation within businesses to test principles and approaches that reimagine the future, and take practical, collaborative action to design and test new ideas, new ventures, and new ways of organising and mobilising to increase social impact.
  4. Working alongside business leaders to grow their confidence and capabilities to influence change in their organisation, their community, regionally and nationally.
