Haidee Bell

Haidee Bell is the Head of Equity at Wellcome Trust. She is  social change leader and inclusive practice specialist with 25 years’ experience of designing, directing and investing in initiatives applying practices of engagement, innovation and enterprise for social good. She is drawn to endeavour that seeks to dismantle inequity and committed to the meaningful participation of a wide range of people in creating change.

Since 2018, Haidee has led Wellcome’s community engagement strategy, ensuring that those most affected by challenges shape health research agendas. She has led work to deliver a framework for inclusive clinical trials, an agenda for dignity in science and Centres for Exchange—a coalition with partners across the Global South that is reimagining the role of community knowledge in research.

Her current role as Head of Equity Partnering supports Wellcome’s strategic commitment to health equity, with a particular focus on areas of health impacted by a changing climate.
