Rachel is an Associate of The Young Foundation and supported the Peer Action Collective research ‘Sharing power, showing understanding: A call to tackle violence affecting young people, with young people’, which was shortlisted for the MRS President’s Award 2025.

Before becoming an Independent Associate, Rachel was a Research and Evaluation Director in crime and justice at Ipsos UK, as well as Head of Vulnerabilities – a role focused on embedding trauma aware principles in research and evaluation.

Rachel has more than 20 years’ experience spanning the public sector, with particular focus on crime, youth justice, cohesion and health. She has led a large portfolio of social research and evaluation and currently holds a number of advisory positions.

Early in her career, Rachel worked for Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Prisons, carrying out research to support the inspection of adult and youth establishments, and Immigration Removal Centres. This covered all aspects of life in custody, from ‘time out of cell’, to experiences of self-harm.

Rachel is passionate about working with young people and in criminal justice, utilising her MA in Criminology and Criminal Justice, qualified teacher status and Introduction to Counselling certificate.

Outside of work, Rachel enjoys boxing classes, travel, and exploring the many parks London has to offer.
