The first phase of the Peer Action Collective programme has now closed. The second phase of the PAC project launched March 2024. Find out more

The Peer Action Collective (PAC) is a £5.2m programme which aims to give young people the chance to make their communities safer, fairer places to live. It is funded by the Youth Endowment Fund, the #iwill Fund (a joint investment between The National Lottery Community Fund and the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport) and the Co-op Group.

The PAC is a ground-breaking network of peer researchers. That means that young people will be in charge of asking questions and finding out what needs to happen to make their area a better place to live. But it’s about more than learning about what needs to change. Being part of the PAC means young people will be supported to take their research and turn it into action. From setting up a youth centre, working to improve local mental health services, or supporting more young people into employment – together, PAC peer researchers will create opportunities to strengthen their communities. The programme runs until December 2022.

Peer researchers are being supported by organisations across England and Wales, including Artswork (Hampshire), High Trees (SW London), Streetgames (East Midlands), the EFL Trust (Bradford and Sheffield), the YMCA and Media Academy Cymru (Wales), The Young Person’s Advisory Service (North West), Youth Focus NE with a range of local partners (North East), the Birmingham Youth Service, Volunteering Matters (East of England), and Young Devon with partners (South West).

If you have any questions or concerns about the peer research in your area, please contact the local partner listed above in the first instance. If you are unable to obtain an answer from the partner or wish to complain about a partner, please email peerresearch@youngfoundation.org
