The Young Foundation is excited to launch a peer research roundtable series with a session chaired by Dr Alessandra Radicati and Dr James Shraiky of UCL’s Institute for Global Prosperity.
The roundtable will bring together academic researchers, voluntary and community sector organisations, local government representatives and community members to discuss what it takes to effectively develop infrastructures and make citizen social science a sustainable way of working.
While citizen science is a well-known approach, particularly in the natural sciences, this roundtable will focus on the specific opportunities and challenges associated with citizen social science.
Building on insights gathered from the Institute for Global Prosperity’s longitudinal study on prosperity in east London and its new initiative, the Citizen Science Academy, this discussion will cover how citizen social science can be better integrated into policymaking. The webinar will focus on scaling up citizen social science, career development and opportunities for citizen social scientists, and creating sustainable relationships between citizen social scientists and the organisations that recruit them.
