Senior Innovation Practitioner
Joining The Young Foundation in 2023, Kathryn leads place-based programmes across the UK. From community leadership and capacity-building to stakeholder engagement and strategy shaping, Kathryn works with local authorities, funders and VCSE organisations to build progressive partnerships and deliver projects that create the conditions for people and communities to transform local systems.
Kathryn draws on social innovation tools and methods to develop, test and grow ideas that solve social and environmental challenges. A skilled facilitator and compassionate communicator, her approach is creative, collaborative and people-centred.
Kathryn is also a member of Year Here, a community of social entrepreneurs tackling Britain’s toughest social problems, having completed the fellowship back in 2018, and worked as a Programme Producer, supporting social entrepreneurs to develop innovative solutions grown from frontline experience.
She previously worked at Spacehive to design and deliver crowdfunding programmes with local authorities.
Kathryn loves the theatre and has trained in improvisation with The Free Association in London and iO in Chicago, regularly embedding these creative and liberating approaches in her own workshop design.
