Senior Researcher, Institute for Community Studies

Lily joined The Young Foundation in 2024 after working as Research and Evaluation Officer for Barnardo’s. With a background in migration and children and young people, she is passionate about engaging communities in research to drive social change and exploring the most effective and valuable ways to do so from participant perspectives.

Lily has an MRes in Global Migrations and Social Justice from the University of Glasgow, where she studied the value of peer research for migrant women from peer researcher perspectives. She is enthusiastic about exploring non-extractive, innovative research methodologies which seek to address social inequalities and produce meaningful outcomes.

Outside work, Lily enjoys spending time in the beautiful Scottish outdoors. She can often be found hiking, cycling and swimming, or growing fruit and veg as a member of her local community garden.
