Research Officer

Having previously worked as a Research and Development Officer for a business consultancy, where she conducted quantitative and qualitative research, and after completing an MSc in Security, Conflict and Justice at the University of Leeds, Sophie joined The Young Foundation in 2022.

Sophie’s work has focused on youth projects, including the Civic Journey and the Peer Action Collective, and conducting research on young people’s mental health services. She is interested in developing trauma-informed approaches to social research and improving support available to neurodiverse people.

Outside of work, Sophie is the COO and a founding member of Young Abuse Support, a charity that provides resources and training for professionals working with young people aged 13 to 21, who have experienced partner domestic abuse. She is passionate about raising awareness of the long-term impact this can have on people who experience it.

She has also regularly volunteered for animal welfare organisations and lives with four rescue dogs.
