Jack Layton

Place Research and Impact Manager

Jack is passionate about making our towns and cities better places to live, and his PhD thesis focused on the role of urban public sports facilities as social infrastructures. Jack has written several widely read and highly cited articles that have developed the concept of social infrastructure in a UK context. At The Young Foundation, he works to ensure people’s voices across the country are heard and their needs prioritised.

Samanthi Theminimulle

Senior Researcher

Samanthi is interested in participatory research methods, inclusion and accessibility. In addition to her role at the Institute for Community Studies, she is is a facilitator with Civic Square and Enrol Yourself, and a trustee for the community land trust, RUSS.

Tania Carregha

Senior Research Manager

Tania previously worked in consultancy for the health sector, and her background is in social psychology and social innovation. She has worked in Mexico City, Chicago, Rome and London, giving her an international perspective on community challenges. She is at her best when working creatively to develop solutions that improve people’s lives. 

Alice Bell

Senior Researcher

Alice joined The Young Foundation in 2020, having previously gained experience as a Government Social Research intern. She is enthusiastic about exploring innovative and inclusive methods to involve diverse communities in impactful research.
