Over seven years, since 2018, Hackney Council, Sport England and others worked with The Young Foundation to develop a deep understanding of the barriers and root causes of inactivity in King’s Park, Hackney, in East London. The King’s Park Moving Together programme supported local people to be more physically active, and our emerging reports share the community-driven change and work undertaken to reduce systemic inequalities linked to health and inactivity.
Our short report, Bold moves, shares the key findings, learnings and recommendations emerging from this work.
Our more detailed report, Activating change, aims to support partners, practitioners, and stakeholders interested in place-based approaches to increasing physical activity and tackling inequality.
Both reports reflect on the journey of the King’s Park Moving Together programme.
