On Thursday 27 June, the independent Campaign for Youth Social Action was established – find out more at www.youthsocialaction.co.uk.
The campaign’s long term goal is to increase the number of quality social action opportunities so that 50% of young people undertake “practical action in the service of others” by 2020.
Over the last few months, informed by research and consultation led by IVR (part of NCVO) and The Young Foundation, the Campaign for Youth Social Action has undertaken wide cross sector consultation on the development of a Quality Framework. Today, Scoping a Quality Framework for Youth Social Action is published.
This lays the groundwork for the creation of Quality Standards for Youth Social Action. Today, the Cabinet Office announced youth social action trials and scale up funding. These trials will use this framework as part of their criteria for bids.
