The Civic Journey programme builds understanding of the ways in which young people are and become active citizens. It’s a two-year, youth-led programme, inspiring sustained engagement in social action, community activism and the democratic participation of young people across the UK.

Funding is now available to support a number of short social action projects or prototypes that suggest how to tackle existing gaps in support, reimagine young people’s civic transitions as they grow up, and have national significance. This interactive session is your opportunity to share ideas that could be funded through this project, receive feedback and support to apply.

We welcome applications from previous participants of the Civic Journey project and others – including young people, and youth-involving and civic groups and organisations.

Existing evidence, and our emerging findings, have identified gaps in understanding. We now seek to support a number of short social action projects or prototypes that suggest how to tackle these gaps, reimagine young people’s civic transitions from childhood to adulthood, and have national significance. We are able to support a range of prototypes and projects, with grants ranging from £500 to £15,000.

At this event, you will be able to:

  • meet the Civic Journey team
  • ask questions
  • scope your project before submitting ideas that could be funded through the Civic Journey project.
