This report explores the lives and experiences of the residents in three neighbourhoods of Eix Besos in North-Eastern Barcelona. Since December 2017 these communities have been part of a radical experiment to tackle urban poverty and social exclusion in the city.

B-MINCOME is a pilot study of a minimum income and active opportunities (related employment, community and social enterprise) for 24 months supporting around 650 people in 10 neighbourhoods. The story of how people experienced B-MINCOME and the impact it had on individuals, families and communities is told in a later series of reports by The Young Foundation and other project partners while this report focus on life before the trial began.
